I've been talking a lot about two specific types of prayer - meditation and contemplation - in my recent podcasts.
(If you missed them, you can watch them here: Divine Vulnerability & the Hidden God with Father Donald Haggerty, and When God Becomes Real: Deeper Prayer & Divine Intimacy with Father Wayne Sattler.)
And there's good reason to talk about them!
After all, contemplation is the highest form of prayer, and meditation prepares us to receive that gift of contemplation from God.
But what about the kind of prayer we're most familiar with and probably practice most often - vocal prayer?
Is it just for children learning their first prayers and beginners in the spiritual life?
Absolutely not.
There's a unique power to vocal prayer that you may not even be aware of.
The saints all knew about it, and continued to practice vocal prayer even as they ascended those spiritual heights.
And today's Sainthood Snippet explains why.
God bless,
Matthew
