The entire Church has been immersed in a profound journey these past several days - from the watching, waiting, and sorrow of the Triduum to our triumphant jubilation on Easter Sunday.
And while there are numerous insights we can take from our movement through Lent and into the Easter season, two seem to stand out.
First, the undeniable fact that God is love.
Only the unfathomable depths of Divine Love could conceive of opening the gates of heaven - and membership in the family of God! - to us in such an astonishing, self-emptying way.
And second - our sacred duty to show God the reverence that is His due.

The Resurrection is a serious thing.
And while modern culture likes to obscure its power and mystery with bunnies, chicks, and chocolate eggs, our true Easter joy isn't cute and cuddly.
It flows from the tragic beauty of a God-man who allowed Himself to be tortured and killed, so that He could conquer death, rise victorious, and lead us to eternal life with Him.
And this incredible, divine, self-giving love isn't simply a one-way street.
It demands a response. It demands reverence, awe, and even fear.
Yes...fear.
And if right now you're thinking, "Wait a second, Matthew. If God is love, why do we need to fear Him?", then you'll want to tune into today's Sainthood Snippet.
God bless,
Matthew
