What do you think of when you hear the word temptation?
Maybe you picture the devil whispering in your ear.
Or perhaps you imagine a freshly frosted chocolate cake sitting on your kitchen counter on a Friday in Lent...just begging to be devoured.
Maybe you picture the devil over the chocolate cake, for crying out loud.
After all, both the Evil One and our "flesh" can be causes of temptation.
But while that's all true, there's another culprit hanging around in the shadows.
"Who could it be, Matthew??"
Us.
"What???"
According to the saints, oftentimes we're the cause of our own temptations.
Only A Few Pilgrimage Spots Left!
The countdown is on! In less than 2 months, from March 9-18, I'll be visiting some of the most well-known Marian shrines in the world (as well as sites dedicated to saints like John of the Cross, Teresa of Avila, & Ignatius of Loyola) on pilgrimage - and only a few seats are left!

And the terrible thing is that much of the time, we're the last ones to see it.
In fact, our first instinct is almost always to blame temptations on some external source.
(I can't be the only one who has ever "explained" in confession why I did such and such.:)
We never look in the mirror.
And this is something we need to root out.
So the question is, how do we become more aware of hidden ways we personally invite temptation?
And more importantly, how do we avoid them?
Well, that's exactly what we discuss in today's Sainthood Snippet - a clip taken from the Science of Sainthood course How To Resist Temptation.
(And if you're interested in watching the rest of this important course - especially with Lent around the corner - CLICK HERE to learn more about becoming a member of the Science of Sainthood!)
God bless!
